The Chinese Academy of Sciences "Problems and Countermeasures for the Prevention and Control of Plastic Pollution in China" Project Consultation Meeting was Successfully Held

On November 9, the project consultation meeting on "Problems and Countermeasures in the Prevention and Control of Plastic Pollution in China" jointly sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University and Beijing University of Chemical Technology was successfully held in Kingfa Sci. & Tech. Co., Ltd. Over 40 industry experts and businesspeople attended this meeting. Chairman Yuan Zhimin, Dr. Li Jianjun, Chief Strategy Officer, Dr. Huang Xianbo, Director and Chief Technology Officer of Central Acadamy, and Ning Hongtao, General Manager of National Polymer Materials Industry Innovation Center attended the meeting.

Chairman Yuan Zhimin emphasized that plastics are widely used in production and life. Irregular production, use, recycling and disposal of plastic waste will cause waste of energy and resources, environmental pollution, and increase the pressure on resources and the environment. Actively responding to plastic pollution is related to the health of the people, the construction of China's ecological civilization and high-quality development. In the past 15 years, Kingfa has persistently conducted in-depth research on the sustainable and green development of polymer materials. Our self-developed recycled plastics and completely biodegradable plastics have brought hope to solve the domestic problems of plastic pollution and help defend the ecological environment.

Chairman Yuan Zhimin stated that the consultation and evaluation project of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is based on China’s actual economic and social development, focusing on key technologies for plastic recycling and development research and other key links, which will provide effective strategic suggestions for facilitating plastic recycling and reuse system, the key technologies, and the laws, standards, and policies related to the recycling of plastic pollutants.

In the report session, Academician Li Jinghong of Tsinghua University, Academician Yu Shuhong of the University of Science and Technology of China, Technical Deputy General Manager Zeng Xiangbin of Zhuhai Wantong Chemical Co., Ltd., and Wu Yongsheng, General Manager of Guangzhou Bijia Material Technology Co., Ltd., respectively delivered reports named "Existing problems and countermeasures", "Plastic Pollution and Sustainable Materials Development", "Beneficial Supplement to Plastic Pollution Prevention and Control 3R Measures-Biodegradable Plastics", "Research Results in the Application Field of Polylactic Acid".
